Wows-Numbers down for good?

World Of Warships players from all around the world are waiting with baited breath to hear whether the current outage to stats website wows-numbers.com will be permanent.

Site creator Wiochi revealed on Reddit that the server housing the website has suffered a failure to both disks at the same time, meaning that at the very least the server will need to be rebuilt from scratch.

After the initial outage, Wiochi took to Reddit to inform the public of the situation.

“Hey everyone, I wanted to let you know that the wows-numbers.com server has physically crashed.”

He continued, “Tomorrow I’ll try to restore the service, but the chances of success are very low. If this scenario comes true, it will likely mark the end of my journey with this project. Rising costs, a declining World of Warships player base, lack of API development by Wargaming , and the widespread issue of bots – all of these factors have made my motivation to maintain and further develop the service very low. It has been an incredible journey and an honor to be part of this community for the past 11 years. Thank you all for being part of it.”

In a worrying update later, Wiochi added “Sadly server is done (both disks at the same time). The server needs to be rebuilt from scratch. I don’t know how feasible this is for a legacy application like wows-numbers.com. I don’t know if it’s even cost effective.”

Messages of support and dismay have flooded in to the Reddit thread from World Of Warships players all over the world.
