It has been a stressful 48 hours for World Of Warships players waiting to hear the fate of the popular player statistics website wows-numbers. A series of Reddit posts from site creator Wiochi yesterday seemed to indicate a strong likelihood that the wows stats site would be closing down permanently, following a server crash that rendered the site inoperable.
Wows players are today celebrating the news that Wiochi has been successful in restoring the server data, and that the wows-numbers website looks like it will be operational again imminently.
In another Reddit post today, Wiochi revealed, “I am pleased to announce that the server-side recovery has been successful.”
“I’m now beginning the process of restoring the service. At this point, things are looking much more optimistic than they did two days ago.”
Wiochi continued, “Thank you for all your kind words of support and for supporting the project on Patreon. It’s an honour to be part of this community. The positive energy you’ve shard gives me the strength to keep fighting for wows-numbers.com. Thank you.”
The news will be music to the ears of World Of Warships players worldwide, and to the developers of third party platforms that make use of the wows-numbers API to display stats on their own websites and apps.
Clan Planner is one such web app, which displays the Player Rating stats of available players to competitive callers composing their teams.
In related Clan Planner news, the wheels are in motion for the introduction of a new set of stats and tools to aid team formation, based upon a player’s performances in Clan Battles.
These tools are intended to give callers a better idea of each of their players’ experience and skill levels in specific ships and roles within a Clan Battles environment.
